Musa Carew
Peacebuilder
“In a divided world, our strength lies in the stories we exchange. Dialogue across cultures is not a soft skill; it’s a survival strategy.” — Musa Carew

About Me
I am a youth advocate, peacebuilder, and democracy practitioner committed to amplifying the voices of young people in governance, conflict resolution, and human rights. With a background in international cooperation and humanitarian action, I have worked across civil society, diplomacy, and multilateral institutions to advance the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda and promote inclusive democratic participation.
I have led initiatives that equip youth with the tools to engage in civic leadership, foster intercultural dialogue, and build resilient communities. My work spans local action and global advocacy; from supporting post-conflict reintegration in Sierra Leone to contributing policy recommendations at the UN and EU levels.
I believe that meaningful peace is co-created by informed, empowered youth; especially in times of uncertainty. My mission is to bridge grassroots realities with global policy frameworks, ensuring no young voice is left behind in the pursuit of justice, equity, and peace.
Peace and Dialogue
Peace is not the absence of disagreement; it is the presence of dialogue. Youth must be equipped not only to speak, but to listen across differences

Global Consultation on Youth and Peacebuilding
I am glad to have contributed in the global conversation between practitioners and academics to explore the different, innovative ways in which local young peacebuilders are advancing youth inclusion in political and peacebuilding processes in their contexts.
This was made possible by PeaceDirect and United Network of Young (UNOY) Peacebuilders, whom convened us through an online consultation (8-10 April, 2019) to broaden the conversation on this topic.
